The Conference is hosting an open house at the United Methodist Building on Saturday, December 4, 2010, from 1:00-4:00 pm. Some in the conference were unable to attend the Dedication Service in June so we would like to offer another opportunity to tour the building. All members of the NC Conference, both clergy and lay, are welcome to attend.
In addition to touring the building, there will also be two ways to share in God’s abundance as part of this event. In giving thanks for our blessings of good health, the Conference will sponsor a Be The Match drive that will allow individuals to register with the National Marrow Donor Program and be listed in a database of potential bone marrow donors for those who are battling serious health challenges, such as leukemia. There will be opportunities for registering with the program for potential bone marrow matching and also for individuals to give financially to support the program costs for finding potential donors and matching them with someone in need. To find out more about the program, visit the National Marrow Donor Program website or download the Be The Match event flyer (MS Word).
Also, the Conference will sponsor a food drive to support the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Bring any nonperishable food donations and we will take them to the Food Bank for distribution to those in need. For a list of the most needed items by the Food Bank, please visit their website.
Directions to the building can be found from our Find Us section of the website. We look forward to sharing with you this gift of a beautiful new facility and also in sharing our blessings and gifts together with those in need!
