Bishop Hope Morgan Ward visited Duke Divinity School on Thursday, January 25, delivering a message titled “Grace and Mercy,” reflecting upon Psalm 111 and celebrating the Lord’s presence through Holy Communion.
Through this time, she invited those in Duke’s Goodson Chapel to consider where we see signs of the Lord’s true nature in our world, and how we also might be gracious and merciful witnesses of God’s love to all.
Following worship, Bishop Ward and Corridor District Superintendent, the Rev. Carol Goehring, engaged in a time of conversation with seminarians from the North Carolina Annual Conference, sharing words of wisdom and encouragement.
We pray, and give thanks, for all pursuing a deeper experience of God through theological education at Duke and other seminaries across the country. And we remember those within the NCCUMC who teach and lead students through appointments within extension ministry.
