The Conference Media Center hosts a list of free electronic Christian resources that you can use immediately in your church. Delicious.com, a social bookmarking website, hosts our collection of website links to free Christian resources online. We now have over 200 websites listed that offer free Bible studies, youth ministry programs, Sunday School lessons, videos, graphics, leader training, worship ideas, and more. Go to the Electronic Resources page on the Media Center’s website and click through to the entire list of links or click on a keyword to look for resources on a specific subject.
A new electronic resource will be added every weekday during Church Library Month. You can also subscribe to the RSS feed on our Delicious site to be notified when new links are posted. See below for the first new resource posted in Church Library Month.
Global Digital Library on Theology and Ecumenism
The World Council of Churches and Globalethics.net have just released a beta version of the Global Digital Library on Theology and Ecumenism, and it is pretty impressive. You can register for free to access over 200,000 journals, magazines, books, training material, dissertations, news, reference works, and e-books. This digital library has mostly full-text documents so that you can read the entire document by downloading it to your computer. You can search by keyword, use the advanced search, or browse by journal subject.
A search for “Methodist” returned over 9,000 results including many conference journals and historical church documents. One interesting reference work is the Oxford Handbooks on Religion that pulls together full-text articles on major topics such as the Bible, early Christianity, Judaism, Methodism, Religion and Politics, Religion and Science, and more. The GlobeTheoLib even lets users submit their own works.
