Blount<\/strong>, Alonzo L. McDonald Family Chair on the Life and Teachings of Jesus and Their Impact on Culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Narratively speaking, how is Jesus of Nazareth \u201ccolored\u201d in the Gospel of Mark? This lecture will interrogate the correlation between Jesus\u2019s actions and his racialization. Jesus\u2019s boundary breaking activity, and the assertiveness in which he engages that activity, hint at a \u201ccolor\u201d that fits a particular racial performative.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Brian K. Blount is President Emeritus of Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC. He served Union in this capacity and as Professor of New Testament for 16 years. Prior to his call to Union, he served as the Richard J. Dearborn Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Princeton Theological Seminary for 15 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has also served as the pastor of the Carver Memorial Presbyterian Church in Newport News, Virginia. He is the author and editor of numerous books, articles, and sermons, including Invasion of the Dead: Preaching Resurrection (2014) and True To Our Native Land: An African American New Testament
