The Season of Creation is an ecumenical church observance every September. In the NC Conference, the Creation Care Team is providing free worship resources<\/a> and a weekly webinar series<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Creation Care Team also donated several books to the NC Conference Media Center. These books are available to borrow to increase your own knowledge about creation care or to share with your small group or congregation. Additional resources you can borrow, including DVDs, small-group studies, and curricula for all ages, are listed in the Creation Care Pathfinder<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harmony Creation Care Curriculum: God’s Original Plan and Original Seeds in a World of Diversity<\/a><\/strong> by Crystal Paul-Watson with Lavanda Paul<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Crystal Paul-Watson and her mother, Lavanda Paul, are commissioned Earthkeepers in the Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church. This curriculum is a tool that can be used in young adult ministries and youth groups, as well as amongst parents who want to share the gift of gardening with their children and grandchildren. The curriculum interweaves gardening stories and strategies with Biblical narratives about Creation, stewardship, and multiculturalism.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pastor and activist David Swanson shows how we have failed our God-given duty as caretakers of creation, and how that failure has resulted in the exploitation of people and the extraction of natural resources. Yet Christians have the capacity to live in a way that nurtures racial and environmental justice simultaneously, honoring people and places in dynamic relationship with our creator God. Swanson shows how we can become communities of caretakers, restore our relationship with creation and each other, and the holistic justice that might result.<\/p>\n<\/div>

It contains prayers, rituals, blessings, and liturgies compiled from Anglican, Roman Catholic, Methodist, and Orthodox sources, as well as early church material, the desert tradition, and monastic spirituality.
