‘Not Allowed to Be a Kid’: A Conversation with Amaru Howard (United Women in Faith)

Join special guest Amaru Howard for a vital, continuing conversation on resisting the criminalization of Black children and youth. Mr. Howard is the author of “Not Allowed to Be a Kid,” winner of the Evident Change 2022 Media for a Just Society Awards in the category of youth media.

In this session, we will:
• Hear Amaru Howard give a live reading of his essay, “Not Allowed to Be a Kid”
• Participate in a Q+A discussion with Mr. Howard and
• Engage in small group conversation to process what we heard and reflect on our own call to action.

This event is hosted by United Women in Faith. There is no cost to participate. All are welcome. Space is limited and registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
