Last year, one of our thoughtful North Carolina Conference laity offered her family&#8217;s Lake Gaston home for clergy covenant groups to\u00a0use as a part of the NCCUMC&#8217;s response to clergy care. This\u00a0layperson&#8217;s dedication to pastoral wellbeing continues, and she has reached out to additional laity who have offered personal homes for our NC pastors to use.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Retreat Spaces for Clergy Covenant Groups:\u00a0<\/strong>Current homes available include Lake Gaston, Atlantic Beach, and Indian Beach. Houses and condos are open to clergy gatherings, though not for families, children, or other\u00a0groups. United Methodist pastors\u00a0serving in local church ministry\u00a0can arrange short stays from January to March 2024. If you don&#8217;t have a covenant group, consider inviting several pastors to join you. You might create a covenant group and friendships that will last throughout your ministry!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Space for a solo getaway:\u00a0<\/strong>For pastors who\u00a0need\u00a0time alone, a layperson has offered a smaller Atlantic Beach condo to suit one person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-theme-secondary-color\">If you are interested, please reach out directly to Josey Snyder (<a href=\"mailto:josey.snyder@nccumc.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">josey.snyder@nccumc.org<\/a>), and she will coordinate with you to\u00a0see if there is a match for your covenant group.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re looking for a spiritual retreat in\u00a0the Durham area, here&#8217;s an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.simpletix.com\/e\/finding-our-way-back-to-true-self-tickets-145718\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">option<\/a>\u00a0to consider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After challenging seasons of ministry, time away with others who have experienced similar things can be life-giving.
