Please enjoy this month\u2019s Encouragement from Laura Wittman, pastor of The Mills Church, a new faith community in Rocky Mount.&nbsp;Anyone can sign up to receive these monthly emails&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nccumc.org\/leadership\/encouragements\/opt-in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy whole life I\u2019ve been the \u201cnerdy\u201d kid who was too much into Star Wars and had no concept of what it meant to be \u201ccool.\u201d&nbsp;In high school it was especially difficult to be who I was, and I struggled with not fitting in or feeling like I was like everyone else.&nbsp;It didn\u2019t help being the preacher\u2019s kid who moved around all the time and never felt quite settled where I was. As I grew older, it became less of a struggle, and in large part because of one of my favorite pieces of scripture, Psalm 139:13-14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read Psalm 139:13-14:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>You are the one who created my innermost parts;<\/em><br><em>you knit me together while I was still in my mother\u2019s womb.<\/em><br><em>I give thanks to you that I was marvelously set apart.<\/em><br><em>Your works are wonderful\u2014I know that very well.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reflect:<\/strong>&nbsp;What I learned is that I didn\u2019t need to always be so worried about what others thought.
