In a season of major change in the church when the familiar ways of funding and doing ministry are declining \u2013 we aren\u2019t broke. There are many resources in the church that we can put to work in new ways to serve and engage our neighborhoods and generate new forms of revenue for ministry. Rev. Mark Elsdon will share practical suggestions and stories that build imagination and suggest new ways forward. We will talk about new uses of church buildings and land, social enterprise, and creative ways to put our assets to work in the world for God. Because God is not declining; and we aren\u2019t broke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark Elsdon<\/strong>, MBA, M.DIV, lives and works at the intersection of property, money, and meaning as a serial social entrepreneur, strategic executive, and author. He is a national thought leader and speaker on subjects of faith-based property development, impact investing, and social enterprise. Mark is the author of We Aren\u2019t Broke: Uncovering Hidden Resources for Mission and Ministry.<\/strong><\/em><\/a> and editor of the book, <\/strong>Gone for Good? Negotiating the Coming Wave of Church Property Transition<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. Mark holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley; Princeton Theological Seminary; and the University of Wisconsin School of Business. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church, USA, and serves as co-founder of RootedGood<\/strong><\/a> and principal at Threshold Sacred Development<\/strong><\/a>. Mark lives in Madison, Wisconsin with his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
