All mentors and mentees selected to participate in the program will gather at The Trinity Center in Pine Knoll Shores for a retreat, October 15-17, 2019.
The retreat will begin after lunch (1pm) on Tuesday, October 15, and will conclude late-morning on Thursday, October 17. The retreat will serve as the beginning-point of the mentoring year, and will be led by the Rev. Kristen D. Williams and the Rev. Kelli Walker-Jones.
About Kristen D. Williams
Kristen D. Williams is a United Methodist Elder in in the North Carolina Conference, and is the founder and director of laleo ministries, a ministry focused on making room for the word of God to speak to God’s people, primarily through coaching and speaking engagements. Kris is known for her contagious positivity, and she uses this positivity to help others get excited about life, especially their own.
Her coaching studies include systems thinking, action learning, human development, positive psychology, appreciative inquiry, dialogue, and emotional intelligence. Her training includes deep listening, powerful questions, professional covenants/ agreements, and coaching ethics.
Kris is an experienced coach, and she brings her wisdom and experience in leading groups and coaching in a variety of contexts to this new venture with Bold: Nurture, Empower, and Equip.
About Kelli Walker-Jones
Kelli Walker-Jones is the director of Triangle Pastoral Counseling (TPC). She is an ordained United Methodist minister and a member of the North Carolina Annual Conference. Her academic preparations include: B.A., Rhodes College, Memphis, TN (1979) and M.Div., the Divinity School, Duke University (1983). A minister for over 25 years, her experience includes rural church ministry, large church staff ministry, and serving on the staff at Duke Divinity School, where she worked extensively with ministerial students in recruitment, supervision, and field placement.
In addition to running TPC, she also participates in clergy group facilitation and individual mentoring. Kelli leads out of a narrative model that invites story gathering and deep listening.
