It will also offer new ways of helping your congregation develop an intentional and comprehensive ministry by, with, and for older adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learners will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gain an understanding of the issues and concerns of midlife and older adults including myths and realities of aging and the physiological changes that occur in later years;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Become informed about intentional ministries with midlife and older adults including caregiving and the role of work and retirement in aging;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acquire skills for developing a comprehensive ministry by, with, and for midlife and older adults addressing faith needs as well as end-of-life issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-theme-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><strong>Order Your Book!<\/strong> <br><br>All participants are expected to read the participant book, <em><em><a href=\"https:\/\/store.upperroom.org\/product\/aging-and-ministry-in-the-21st-century\">Aging and Ministry in the 21st Century<\/a>,<\/em> by Richard H. Sandy attends Ocean View UMC and answered the call to be a lay speaker in 2016. He likes to draw on his extensive travels and personal experiences to highlight the love of Jesus Christ.
