Please contact your district director or&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:cle@nccumc.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cle@nccumc.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Course: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This course is designed for those who have not completed formal preaching training, for pastors seeking a basic refresher course, and for others who are called upon to preach in a pastor\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Learners will:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Examine the role of the sermon in the Service of Worship and see it as a proclamation of the Good News;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work through the stages in sermon preparation from message topic to final manuscript;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn how to assess the congregation\u2019s profile as it impacts sermon creation and delivery;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Examine technical issues of grammar, language, word selection, and humor and their impact on delivering the sermon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-theme-secondary-color has-theme-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background\"><strong>Order Your Book!<\/strong> <br><br>All participants are expected to read the participant book, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/Thank you for your interest. He is passionate about becoming a better disciple and helping others to grow in relationship with God and with one another. He is the husband of Michelle, who introduced him to the Methodist church, and father of Mary Elysse and Lauren.
