And if you attended the ordination and commissioning service, you witnessed seven new certified lay ministers affirm their commitments as they were commissioned for lay ministry in our conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We invite you to join us for our Day of Discovery, July 15, 10am-3pm.<\/strong> This will be a time of fellowship and an opportunity to learn about the CLM candidate training program in the NC Conference. Join us as we hear from CLM facilitator Anggie Thompson and Conference Lay Leader John Hall about this significant investment our conference makes in laity who are ready to say “yes” to God’s call to serve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Take it to the Lord in prayer for discernment. Commit yourself to the course and trust that you will grow spiritually throughout this process.”

“Take the calling and training seriously and be prepared for a challenge. Be open to differing viewpoints and recognize that your calling may change as you grow in the CLM process.”

“Don’t be afraid of it. Even if you choose later not to continue as a CLM, it is worth the learning experience.”

“If you truly feel led to do this don’t let perceived weaknesses or issues stop you. The time is manageable because you choose your time to participate each day. There are no wrong answers because you are thinking and learning with each other.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
