Pathways are clusters of courses that can be taken to enhance one’s skills in a particular ministry or area of interest. You do not need to be pursuing a certification in Lay Servant Ministry to take any of these courses. In addition, you are free to choose any location or any particular order. They are suggestions we believe will help laypersons become more proficient in their ministry or help them discover a particular ministry they would like to explore.
Two courses we believe will help in all pathways are the Basic Course in Lay Servant Ministries and Spiritual Gifts. The Basic Course introduces a variety of foundational skills for all areas of ministry: leading, caring, and communicating. The Spiritual Gifts class helps learners discover and claim their spiritual gifts and possibly see those gifts as a direction into ministry at their local church or beyond.
There are eight initial Pathways to explore. Click on the links below to see suggested courses.
