Invitation to Day of Discernment for Prospective Lay Missioners on October 22nd.
The North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church has trained and certified over 60 Lay Missioners during the past three years. Training and certification are made possible through the “Discipulos Haciendo Discipulos” – Disciples Making Disciples – initiative which seeks to prepare disciples of Jesus Christ to serve the Hispanic/Latino community in North Carolina and to enhance current Hispanic/Latino ministries in the NC Conference.
The Disciples Haciendo Discipulos Initiative is currently inviting prospective Lay Missioners for 2017 to attend a Day of Discernment on Saturday, October 22nd from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This event will be held at Apex United Methodist Church (100 S Hughes St. Apex NC, 27502). Prospective Lay Missioners who have been in conversation with their pastors regarding the Lay Missioner program are encouraged to attend. The Day of Discernment is an important step of the application process.
