New Non-profit seeks experienced Immigration Attorney in Fayetteville NC
Fayetteville Justice for Our Neighbors (www.fayettevillejfon.org) is a new nonprofit organization that provides no to low cost legal services to low-income immigrants. We seek an experienced immigration attorney to join our team. The Attorney will oversee provision of immigration legal services to clients. This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Chairman of the Board to deliver professional legal services, education, and advocacy to low-income immigrants within the Fayetteville and surrounding areas. This is a full-time position based in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This position will work closely with the National JFON organization, a United Methodist service ministry to immigrants. DUTIES
• Represent low-income clients in a wide range of humanitarian immigration matters, with an emphasis on change of status, permanent residence, citizenship, removal defense, asylum, refugees, complex family-based cases such as those requiring waivers, immigration relief under VAWA, and other immigration matters, other than employment-based immigration. Manage active caseload and maintain case management system.
• Conduct educational presentations about immigration laws and policies to the general public and immigrant communities.
• At least three years’ experience practicing immigration law
