The Wesley Fellowship at Duke University seeks a visionary and dynamic leader for its collegiate ministry program. Duke Wesley provides a spiritual home for Methodist and other students in the midst of a dynamic, complex, competitive academic and social environment by engaging them in:
● Christ-centered community
● Worship which engages both heart and mind
● Intellectual and soulful examination and development of faith
● community life together which nurtures Christian support and friendship, and
● reflective social justice practices
The successful candidate will be passionate about ministry with undergraduate students and will bring a deep pastoral and prophetic leadership to the community.
Qualifications: Ordained Elder in UMC; proven experience in campus or other ministry, positive team spirit and a proven ability to recruit, empower, and listen to student participants and leaders; demonstrated capabilities in worship leadership, collaboration, supervising staff and interns, crafting vision, fundraising, administering finances, and relating to diverse constituencies; well grounded in Wesleyan theology and tradition, with an emphasis on intentional community, the sacraments, social justice, and an active engagement in ecumenism and current social concerns
