The Congregation at Duke University Chapel, (Durham, NC) is seeking an Assistant Pastor. The Congregation, an inter-denominational community with 525 members is comprised of single, couples, and families who have made Duke University Chapel their worship home. The Congregation is a separate organization from Duke University Chapel, and yet closely related to the Chapel.
Responsibilities include:
1. Ministry to Youth and their Families: Provide leadership and resourcing for the development, coordination, evaluation and enhancement of Christian education for youth 6th through twelfth grade.
2. Young Adult Ministry: Provide leadership and resourcing for the development, coordination, evaluation and enhancement of Christian nurture for college-age and young adults. This ministry is to members of the Congregation, Duke University students, and non-member young adults in the Durham area.
3. Engagement with the Community: Provide leadership and support to the Mission Committee in their service to others, to members of the Congregation to deepen their engagement with the Congregation, and to non-member residents of the Durham area who do not have a church home
Graduate theological education required; ordination or ordination-track preferred.
