Academy offering program with Sue Nilson Kibbey
The Academy for Leadership Excellence is thrilled to be able to offer the opportunity to register online for the National Leader Series programs. Prison chaplains seeking assistance
The National Threshold Re-Entry program is up and running at each of the five Federal prisons in Butner. The chaplains need help in two ways: 1) funding to purchase reentry manuals; and 2) volunteers to be a part of the Threshold Re-Entry program. The Threshold Re-Entry program seeks to prepare inmates nearing the end of their sentence to make successful integrations back into society. Read more

God is up to something! The North Carolina Conference has an opportunity to learn the best practices of discipleship, consider new ways of deepening our faith, and shape the ministries of churches for making disciples of Jesus Christ. “Deepening Your Effectiveness” is a refreshing resource for a denomination that has emphasized membership growth for decades, losing sight of discipleship. Pilgrimage introduces Bart Campolo
The Pilgrimage Planning Team welcomes to Pilgrimage 2010 “With One Voice” Bart Campolo. Bart is a veteran urban minister and activist who speaks and writes about grace, faith, loving relationships and social justice. Bart is the leader of The Walnut Hills Fellowship, a local ministry in inner city Cincinnati. He is also founder of Mission Year, a Christian ministry which recruits committed young adults to live and work among the poor in inner-city neighborhoods across the country, and executive director of EAPE, which develops and supports innovative, cost-effective mission projects around the world. Duke Clergy Health Initiative / Spirited Life
Now through Oct. 31, the Duke Clergy Health Initiative is enrolling clergy in Spirited Life, its holistic health and wellness program/study. The program is offered free of charge to most United Methodist clergy in North Carolina. Funded by The Duke Endowment and cast within a framework of Wesleyan theology and spirituality, Spirited Life will provide clergy with the tools needed to manage stress; learn to care for the body in a healthy, mindful way; and find spiritual renewal. Local Church Treasurer/Finance Training offered
Local church treasurer and finance committee training will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the United Methodist Building in Garner. Local church finance basics will be covered as well as updates from recent legislative changes. Local church treasurers, finance committee members and pastors are encouraged to attend. Read more
