Prayers are requested for Carol Newman, mother of Tom Newman (Sunrise, Holly Springs). She has cancer of the esophagus, complicated by previous treatment for cancer 12 years ago and a rare clotting disorder. Surgery is scheduled for March 10 and is expected to last 15 hours. Prayers are much appreciated for Carol and the family.

Sympathy is extended to Danny (Carbonton-Bethlehem) and Teri Berrier upon the death of Teri’s father, Bob McCormick. The funeral service will be on March 8, 2 p.m. at First UMC in Hendersonville, NC.
