On Thursday, September 22, School for Conversion and Duke Memorial United Methodist Church will host Rev. Alan Storey for an evening discussion with Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove on “Following Jesus in Difficult Political Times.”
An ordained minister of the Methodist Church of Southern African, Rev. Storey is known for his deep commitment to following the peacemaking Jesus since apartheid South Africa. Arrested for refusing to fight in the apartheid army, he became the last conscientious objector to be tried in apartheid South Africa. After his trial was abandoned midway, he continued to devote his life to peace, working on issues of poverty and racial reconciliation. Rev. Storey will join Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove for a discussion on what it means to follow the peaceful path of Jesus during difficult political times, both in South Africa and the United States.
Please join us for this free event! There is no need to RSVP.
