From time to time we all get overloaded with e-mail. Our folders fill up and need to be dumped so that we can clean out our inbox and move on with what is really important. The Google Apps webmail system can display from 25-100 messages per page. That’s great for normal use but what if I want to delete a few hundred (or a few thousand) messages? Here’s how! Use the Select links at the top of label that you want to purge. In the example below I have selected all of the messages in a label called Newsletters. There are a few different Select options. If you click All it will immediately select all of the messages on the page you are looking at. In this example it will delete 100 messages. Since we want to delete every message in the Newsletters label we should select the Select all 907 conversations in “Newsletters” link. Clicking the delete button will move all of these messages to the Trash label. From there you can purge them again or wait 30 days for them to be purged automatically.
This feature works in every label in Gmail. You can mass select messages in the Inbox, Sent Mail, Starred and any other label that you are using. They all work the same way. Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
