Many of you have followed discussion of the trip to the US-Mexico Border that several of our NCCUMC clergy finished just over a week ago.
Many of us wrote blogs, social media posts, and have since preached and spoken about it after returning home. For us who went on this journey, it was as beginning and not an ending — a beginning of the next phase of a conversation in which we will talk about people and dynamics of the Border and global migration crisis which were previously invisible to us. This next phase of the conversation involves us remembering the faces of innocent men, women, and countless children who are legally trying to seek asylum but who are oftentimes victims of sexual assault, human trafficking, robbery, and other forms of violence.
As we continue to share, we have come up with several different events throughout our Conference, ranging in scope and location, and all of them are open to the public in different ways. Please make an effort to be present at these as you’re able, to start and continue the conversation, from wherever you are with it.

It is a constant movement, to beat witness to the things we have seen and also to grow from these things. Let us bear this experience together, as Love bears all things.
