On Thursday, Feb. 25, Allyson Caison’s dream became a reality when Wheels of Hope made its inaugural trip into the streets of Selma, NC, serving not only food, but fun, fellowship, and the love of Jesus Christ. The beauty of this ministry of Edgerton UMC in Selma is that it is not limited to the church building. It can move anywhere it is needed – to senior centers, disaster scenes, or wherever the Spirit leads them.
Clay Parker, pastor at Edgerton Memorial, says that he hopes doing this ministry will not only feed people physically but will inspire others to “shine their light a little brighter.”
It really is about seeing the people “out there enjoying themselves, enjoying the fellowship of what being with other Christians is all about and that’s just a good thing.”
