A Day of Prayer for GC 2016 – Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10
The Council of Bishops has invited each annual conference to host a 24-hour prayer effort on a specific date, with the intent of creating a groundswell of prayer in the days leading up to the General Conference. Bishop Ward has selected Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10 as the Day of Prayer in the North Carolina Conference.
She has written a prayer which can be used as a guide for this prayer time. Everyone is invited to pause and speak a prayer for the NC Conference delegation, for the business matters which will be handled at General Conference, and for the worship experiences of United Methodists coming together from all corners of the globe. You’ll find her prayer in the resources below.

- An online sign-up sheet is available for persons who would like to claim a particular time slot and participate in the 24-hour prayer vigil on Feb. 10. Churches are also encouraged to create a designated moment of prayer for church members to pause in unison or a 24-hour prayer chain on that day.
