The Sidney Stafford Lecture Series honors the life and work of the late Rev. Sidney Stafford, former chaplain of Louisburg College. The inaugural lecture will be held on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., in the Norris Theater, Louisburg College. The guest speaker is Dr. Nancy K. MacLean, an American historian. She is the William H. Chafe Professor of History and Public Policy at Duke University. MacLean’s research focuses on race, gender, labor history and social movements in 20th century U.S. history, with particular attention to the U.S. South. Her recent book is the best-selling ‘Democracy In Chains: The Deep History of the Radical Right’s Stealth Plan for America.’ The event is free and open to the public. Ample free parking is available.
