On April 29 thru May 3, there will be a pilgrimage to Alabama offered for clergy and laity of the NC Conference. Sponsored by the Corridor District and departing from Durham, the pilgrimage will visit some of the most important sites of the Civil Rights movement and will include time at the new Peace and Justice memorial in Montgomery, AL.
Join us as we walk in the footsteps of those seeking voting rights on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma; sit in the Sunday School classrooms at the 16th St. Baptist Church in Birmingham, and pay homage to all of those whose lives were claimed by the scourge of lynching in America at the EJI Memorial.
The tour will be led by Frank and Rosalie Turner. Rosalie Turner is the author of the book “March with Me” which tells the story of Birmingham’s Children’s March in 1963.
