Registration is now open for the Piedmont Region Come to the Table conference. The original conference planned for February was cancelled due to a winter storm and has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 28.
With poverty and food insecurity rates continuing to rise in North Carolina, alongside an explosion of interest in local food, it is a potent time for us to gather, listen, learn and strategize how to build just food economies that include everyone.
Dr. Psyche Williams-Forson, author of Taking Food Public: Redefining Foodways in a Changing World will deliver a keynote address. Other speakers of note include Rev. Prince Raney Rivers, Chas Edens, Rev. Grace Hackney, and more. The wisdom of the speakers and the expertise and ideas of practitioners in the room promise to take the conversation food access and the faith communities role to a deeper level.
Important: If you previously registered for the canceled February event, please take the time to fill out a new registration form. If you paid for the cancelled event, you will not be expected to pay again!
