Third Quarter Critical Driver Information Due
Pastors, the data entry page for the third quarter Critical Drivers information will be made available on the Online Data Collection System beginning Oct. 1. If there is data missing for previous quarters, please fill in the blank columns while completing the data for the current quarter. Please log-in and enter the church’s third quarter information during the first week of October to ensure it is included in the reports submitted to the Cabinet on Monday, Oct. 7.
Employment Opportunities at the Conference Building

Volunteers Needed to Sort AGAPE Christmas Boxes
The Agape Christmas Boxes that churches have prepared need to go to Haw River UMC or 3MC in Goldsboro by the weekend of Sept. 27-28. On Sept. 27, volunteers are needed to examine and palletize the boxes at Haw River UMC (Haw River, NC). Volunteers are needed from 1-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 and also on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8:30 a.m. – noon. At 3MC in Goldsboro, the process will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. Find “Breathing Space” at Atlantic Beach with other deacons and diaconal ministers and savor the opportunity to unplug, retreat from the demands of life, and find the time and space to read, write, or contemplate life while collecting sea shells. Volunteer Youth Worker Training
The goal at WellSeasonedYM is to empower local United Methodist Churches and new faith communities in the NC Conference who utilize volunteer youth leaders through coaching and mentoring. Camp Chestnut Ridge Annual Trail Run
Saturday, Nov. 23 beginning at 9 a.m.
The Annual Trail Run winds through the trails at Chestnut Ridge Camp & Retreat Center and features rolling hills through old hardwood forests. This year’s event will feature two race options: a 4-mile race and an 8-mile race. Walkers are welcome on the 4-mile trail. Proceeds from the race will benefit the “Pass It On” Annual Fund which supports the camping ministry, enhances facilities and equipment, and helps send children and youth to camp through the campership scholarship program. Calling Young Adults to Mission Service
The United Methodist Church General Board of Global Ministries is pleased to share the launching of Generation Transformation, a new initiative that provides mission service opportunities for young adults.The three programs available through Generation Transformation are Global Mission Fellows (two-year service program), Global Justice Volunteers (ten-week program) and Individual Volunteers (two-month to two-year program). Bishop’s Forum on Immigration
Oct. 2, 11a.m. to 1p.m.
The first in a series of forums addressing complex social issues will be Oct. 2 at the Methodist Building in Garner. It will be a discussion on Immigration Reform and Reaching out in Ministry to Immigrants. Lunch will be provided for a $5 cash donation at the door but registration for lunch must be provided to: Robin Harry, rharry@nccumc.org no later than Sept. 25 to be included in the catering number. The event will be videostreamed for persons who cannot attend in person (instructions will be online at www.nccumc.org the day of the forum). Conference Offering Church Treasurer/Finance Training
Local church treasurer and finance committee training will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Building in Garner. Local church finance basics will be covered as well as updates from recent legislative changes. Local church treasurers, finance committee members and pastors are encouraged to attend. Seats are limited so registration is required. The $10 registration fee will cover the cost of training materials and lunch.
