OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE
The Interim Children’s Ministry Director works in concert with Lead Pastor, ministry teams, and laity to shape children as disciples of Jesus Christ growing to become confessing Christians. It is anticipated that the individual in this position will work an average of 14 hours per week.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serve as Ministry Team Leader:
• Lead Children’s Ministry Team to plan/implement Children’s Ministry objectives, via:
– Equipping teachers to lead Children’s Sunday School Classes
– Equipping Children’s worship volunteers for two age groups: 4’s-6’s & 7’s-10’s
• Lead and empower Children’s Ministry Team members in planning annual events:
i.e. Trunk or Treat; Advent & Lent/Easter activities; Mission; planning for VBS
• Lead Children’s Moments in worship
• Work with a core of adult leadership to model and mentor children as faithful disciples by developing supportive, nurturing relationships with children
Professional and Personal Development:
• Practices Sabbath & Spiritual Disciplines
• Meets with Lead Pastor twice per month for collaboration and coaching
• Proficient in Word, Social media, and willingness to learn WordPress
