We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Worship Leader to guide our congregation in worship through music and spiritual leadership. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to communicate effectively, inspire others, and foster a welcoming environment for worship. This role is pivotal in enhancing the spiritual experience of our community and requires a commitment to mentoring and educating team members
-Proficient as a vocalist and with an instrument
-3 -5 years previous experience leading music in a similar contemporary setting
-Experience with soundboard operations
-Experience with streaming technology
-Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as relates to weekly communication with Pastor, staff, music team, church members, and visitors
-Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
-Ability to work independently and plan as a team member without supervision
-Ability to keep confidentiality related to the business of the church and its members
-Flexibility to adjust to change in leadership and dynamics
-Willingness to learn new music, accomplish goals, and meet deadlines
-Willingness to meet with the Staff-Parish Relations, Worship committee, and the church membership and attend a band practice session during the interview process
In consultation with the Pastor, oversee the music team:
-Schedule, select, prepare, and lead contemporary worship music for Common Thread (Contemporary) weekly worship service, and special/seasonal services.
-Prepare and conduct weekly rehearsals for the Common Thread band.
-Prepare weekly slides with lyrics.
-Prepare music sheets for vocalists.
-Attend Worship Committee to music ministry alignment.
-Collaborate with Pastor, soundboard team, and Worship Committee to provide weekly streaming / recordings.
-Identify challenges in the music ministry area and assume responsibility for seeking resolution of those challenges.
-Manage contemporary music library, including administering the contemporary music budget.
-Take leading role in seeking and recruiting new band members, including youth participants.
-Arrange music coverage during absences
-Will be included in any musical planning for the church
