The NCCUMC, the jurisdictional body for United Methodist churches east of Elon, NC, seeks to hire a part-time Director of the Congregational Learning and Action Community to work with the Living the Word Ministry for Justice and Equity LtW-JE is a placed-based community development ministry that coaches diverse congregations of any Christian denomination to work together to establish a ministry to address local issues. LtW-JE will refine the Living the Word Ministry-Wilson, a justice and equity model for ministry, and replicate it in two additional NC counties. The Congregational Learning and Action Community is a new component of the Living the Word Ministry which will help congregations connect personal piety to social holiness, faith to awareness of inequity and social action. The Director of the Congregational Learning and Action Community will report to the Director of LtW-JE, Dr. Micheline Ridley Malson.
• Designing the Learning and Action Center including process & strategies, major components, curriculum, and activities based on a review of best practices of congregational learning
• Communicating to and among congregations who are members of the Congregational Learning and Action Community
•Assessing progress of member congregations
This position requires travel approximately two days per week. Education: Master of Divinity preferred.
