The NCCUMC, the jurisdictional body for United Methodist churches east of Burlington, NC (789 congregations), seeks to hire a full-time Program Coordinator to work with the Living the Word Ministry for Justice and Equity (LtW-JE). LtW-JE is a placed-based community development ministry that coaches diverse congregations of any Christian denomination to work together to establish a ministry to address local issues. LtW-JE will refine the Living the Word Ministry-Wilson, a justice and equity model for ministry, and replicate it in two additional NC counties. The Program Coordinator will report to the Director of LtW-JE, Dr. Micheline Ridley Malson.
Program and Administrative: The Program Coordinator will manage the day-to-day activities of the LtW-JE Ministry & coordinate the various program components including:
• Scheduling and documenting decisions made at 10 LtW meetings held between January 2020 through December 2021
• Communicating to and among congregations who are members of the LtW ministry
• Assisting in planning, coordinating, and implementing LtW community outreach events
• Communicating to and coordinating among the components of the Gentlemen’s Agreement Program of the Wilson County Public Schools: School Liaisons, Mentor Coordinator, GA enrichment activities and the PRIDE Program
• Scheduling meetings (up to 5) of the Congregational Learning and Action Community
• Assisting in coordinating the Organizing Against Racism Training (REI) held once a year in Wilson
