Staff Position Opening Managing Director
Half-time Position
Beginning January 2019
The Managing Director should have a good working knowledge and practice of the food and faith movement and exhibit a maturity in decision making and matters related to personnel, financial management and long term sustainability.
The best candidates will be life-long learners with a business aptitude; visionaries that are committed to the life of Christian discipleship through the practices of Sabbath keeping and building flourishing communities through the ways we eat and share food.
Responsibilities, under supervision of the Executive Director:
Personnel:
Supervise and work with program staff to assure ongoing excellence and effective evaluation tools and processes for all programs, including Sabbath Life, Eating Together Faithfully, and other workshops, retreats and programs.
Supervise and coordinate with communications staff to ensure effective, accurate and compelling communications.
Manage all human resources activities, including policies and employee benefits.
Financial and Administrative:
Work with the Treasurer’s Office of the North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church to oversee and approve all bookkeeping, budgeting, financial forecasting and cash flow.
Reconcile and prepare financial reports monthly and prepare financial reports for grants and other funding sources.
Advisory Council:
Act as liaison to the Advisory Council and prepare agenda, reports, policies, and strategic planning documents.
