Goal of the position within the Church: to form disciples through music and worship arts throughout the life of the church.
The appropriate candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, have a minimum of two years’ experience in directing and accompaniment in an established music environment. It is necessary that he/she embrace United Methodist doctrine and theology, have the ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and aid in the implementation of music ministry within the parameters of the UMC. He/she must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, conflict management skills, and computer/technology skills. The candidate must exhibit a high level of professionalism and proficiency in a variety music and worship styles. It is necessary that this candidate possess the ability to oversee contemporary as well as traditional worship services.
This is a full-time position and attendance at bi-weekly staff meetings and bi-weekly worship planning meetings. He/she is accountable to and supervised by the Lead Pastor. As a part of the supervisory relationship, a formal performance review is conducted on a semi-annual basis.
