We are seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Financial Specialist for Apex UMC Family of Faith Communities. The Financial Specialist is responsible for accounts payable, payroll, and data reporting and analysis of generosity campaign and giving trends for the Family of Faith Communities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and process accounts payable, complying with required controls for expenditures.
Manage and process payroll, including maintaining accurate payroll and tax records.
Coordinate the Treasurer’s counting team each week, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
Conduct regular data collection and analysis of giving, generating reports for use by Finance Committee, Administrative Council, and staff leadership.
Maintain the church’s database in coordination with local faith community Operations and Communications coordinators. Preserve security, accuracy, and accessibility of data for appropriate ministry purposes.
Train staff and volunteers in use of ACS.
Attend Finance Team monthly meetings as requested, providing backup support to the Financial Coordinator.
Cross train with Financial Coordinator to provide support as needed.

Position Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years relevant financial management/accounting work experience. Associate’s degree preferred.
