Wakefield United Methodist Church in north Raleigh is seeking a part-time Financial Coordinator. Primary job responsibilities include: accounts payable and issuing checks; payroll; processing and posting contributions (including online gifts) and issuing quarterly giving statements. Duties also include reconciling all bank accounts, month-end review, and posting closing journal entries, as well as issuing monthly and year-end financial statements, overseeing a general operating fund, building fund, and restricted funds. This position is also responsible for administering the church membership database and generating various membership reports. Candidate must have 5-years of experience in a comparable position. A college education with a concentration in either accounting or financial administration is also required. Candidate must be responsible, of impeccable integrity, computer savvy, highly organized with excellent follow through, and able to work independently and as part of a team, especially the Committee on Finance and church staff. Microsoft Excel expertise is required. The ideal candidate will have a high proficiency in ACS (Automated Church Systems) software. The ideal candidate is a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ with experience working with a United Methodist Church. Position is part-time for approximately 15 hours per week.
