The Director of Youth and Outreach at Aldersgate United Methodist Church has a primary responsibility to develop a program for spiritual formation for youth in grades 6-12 and to coordinate a comprehensive ministry of outreach to involve all ages in our church. Outreach includes mission and service opportunities, community engagement, evangelism, and hospitality.

Major responsibilities to include:
Leadership Development
• Inspire, motivate, lead, and direct the recruiting and training of volunteers within the settings of youth and outreach ministries
• Develop vision for youth and outreach and implement new ministries, coordinating with the overall mission and vision of the church
• Enable, equip, and delegate key ministry tasks and empower others to serve in meaningful ministry
• Assist youth council and leaders in developing the overall vision and direction of youth ministry
• Assist with establishing focus for outreach in alignment with our church vision
Programs and Events
• Oversee weekly and periodic youth programs, including youth Sunday School, Sunday evening program, Confirmation, and Pilgrimage
• Plan and lead age-appropriate local and regional youth mission trips annually
• Develop and implement an overall curriculum plan for youth spiritual formation in collaboration with the director of Christian Formation
• Develop opportunities for youth spiritual formation during the week, including activities such as Wednesday Night Live, Bible studies, and breakfast before school
• Maintain accurate records of attendance
