Carrollton First United Methodist Church is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministries (DYM) with a vibrant and authentic Christian faith and a call for making disciples of Jesus Christ among young people. Every week over 100 unique youth members (6th-12th grade) participate in Sunday School, Sunday evening worship, Bible studies, discipleship groups and fellowship activities. Overall, attendance at all weekly activities averages about 170 students. More than 60 adult volunteers and a Parent Council provide leadership in a state of the art youth center that was completely renovated in 2014. Youth grow in faith and discipleship through a developmental mission strategy that includes local and regional mission activities and trips, culminating in the junior year spring break international mission trip.
The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree, at least three year’s ministry experience, a collaborative work style, knowledge of and commitment to United Methodist theology and practice, great organizational and relational skills, and the ability to craft a vision and strategy (with the help of pastoral staff and church leaders) to grow this ministry. In addition, the Director of Youth Ministries is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers and working with other staff as part of the overall ministry and mission of the church.
