The Local Church is a United Methodist new faith community. Our mantra is our mission: “Love where you are.” We call Pittsboro, North Carolina home, but we believe everybody is local somewhere, and we connect with children beyond the Pittsboro/Chatham communities both in-person and online.
We want all Local Kids to feel the unconditional love of Jesus, experience belonging, and know that they are loved for love — sent to love their friends, their family, their neighbors, and the whole world because God loves them!
We need a Director of Local Kids Ministries who is a dynamic, collaborative, and creative leader — willing to try new things and think outside the box. This person should be passionate about building relationships, skilled at forming young disciples in the way of love, and dedicated to ensuring that children are fully integrated into the life of the faith community.
We’re looking for someone who will dream, plan, and implement programming with and for Local Kids across every area of ministry and mission, empower kids to discover their gifts for the good of the community and the world, prioritize relationships, belonging, and inclusivity, and work with other leaders to ensure that policies and procedures are in place to help keep all children and the adults who care for and work with them safe.
Tthis person inspires wonder about God and builds a foundation of faith that will last a lifetime. This person knows that they are loved for love and longs to share that with all of God’s children.
The Director of Local Kids Ministries is a part-time, salaried position with an understood commitment of 10-12 hours per week on average.
