Hours: 40 hours a week
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree with preference toward an advanced degree related to theological studies
• Alignment with beliefs and practices of the UMC
• Experience working in Children or Youth Ministry preferred
• Understanding of the ways by which people are discipled from cradle to grave
• Positive attitude and excellent socialization skills
• Strong desire to develop and work with a team
Responsibilities:
• Create, implement and support mission and goals for children, youth and adult discipleship programs
o Create milestones for each age group (cradle to grave)
o Integrate children into larger life of the church: worship, small groups (Common Tables), and mission (Missional Communities)
o Lead effort to select children and youth curricula and equip teachers
• Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and any necessary staff, including support for
o Integrating into and preparing children for worship
o Parents’ Night Out and other Family Fellowship Events
o ConneXion (Sunday school for children, youth and adults)
o Youth Group
o Adult Discipleship offerings (Common Tables, Bible studies, etc)
• Help plan and execute the transition to a new building
• Communicate with and build relationships with families, including welcoming new families
• Equip and empower parents to be part of their children’s spiritual formation
• Oversee Common Tables Ministry (weekly table gatherings for 8-10 people to grow in faith and formation)
o Utilizing curriculum, train new Common Table leaders
