The Director of Communications is a key leadership position for Edenton Street United Methodist Church (ESUMC). Working with the Sr. Pastor, staff, & other church leaders, he/she will: establish forums for listening and engaging the congregation, demonstrate competency in managing and communicating change, will be experienced in building a comprehensive strategy for sharing ESUMC vision, will lead the staff in the creation of & accountability to systems that uphold a cohesive language & look for all communications, & will ensure continual innovating on the “brand” through communications.
Key focus areas include: Virtual Worship/Discipleship _ Parish Communications _ Inter-Church Communication _ Stewardship & Major Gifts
Job Specifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Journalism
Expert-level writer & editor with ability to produce high-quality content
Demonstrated leadership abilities & strategic thinking
Proven ability to manage, grow, & nurture social media accounts
Knowledgeable about social media marketing with experience running social media campaigns
Proven expertise in social analytics
3-5 yrs minimum experience with project management, branding strategy, digital marketing, story-telling, data collection, change-management, & crisis management
3-5 yrs experience & education in non-profit/church financial development strategy
Experience building & managing staff & volunteer teams
proficiency in Google Suite, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc) MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Publisher, & Outlook), WordPress, HootSuite, Google AdWords / Analytics, MailChimp, Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter
