The Director of Children and Family Ministries will provide leadership and vision to children (birth to 5th grade) and their families. This person will equip and teach our children by introducing, nurturing, and developing their spiritual growth and personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Director will also be responsible for recruiting, leading, organizing, and supporting volunteers that assist in the Children and Family Ministry programs.
An AA or BS in Education or Religious Studies, or an equivalent degree program is preferred. Comparable “real word” experience will also be considered. Candidate will have a history of demonstrated skills in leadership and facilitation in children’s ministries. Should be familiar and comfortable with social media and other technology. Must be 24 years of age or older.
Must have an understanding and be willing to support the mission, vision, values and beliefs of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church. Must show a background and interest in continuing Christian spiritual growth, understanding of Methodist doctrine and theology, and has discerned a call to help children and families grow in their faith. Must also be able to engage and connect with those both in the congregation and in the community in positive ways. Willing to work with other directors, staff and pastor to foster a concerted effort to reach all members of the congregation, regardless of age.
$40,000-$42,000 (commensurate with experience)
