Qualifications:
1. Must be a faithful and mature disciple of Jesus Christ, and have a theological and Biblical understanding of and respect for the beliefs and teachings of the United Methodist Church
2. Must be an outgoing “people person” with good interpersonal skills and an ability to inspire, mentor, disciple, and nurture volunteer musicians and media team members
3. College graduate or equivalent work-related experience
4. Proficiency in reading, understanding and teaching music
5. Proficiency in playing the piano (and possibly guitar) for worship services, organizing and leading a worship team, and organizing and leading choirs
6. Strong organizational skills
7. Comfortable with contemporary styles of worship
8. Ability to work with people of all ages
9. Comfortable offering prayer and appropriate comments in front of congregation during worship and other services
Primary Roles and Purposes of Position:
1. Lead energizing, dynamic, and inspiring music, while understanding that the goal is not to perform or provide entertainment, nor is it to bring attention or glory to those leading music or worship. Rather, the goal is to bring glory by God to make deeply committed disciples of Jesus Christ
2. Assist Lead Pastor in leading worship services, as requested
3. Work with the Lead Pastor and designated members of the media team to plan weekly worship services
4. Supervise and schedule volunteers as needed for weekly services including staff, worship team and musicians
5. Schedule rehearsals for worship team to prepare for worship services and/or special events
Starting salary at $7800/year or $150/week
