Edenton Street United Methodist Church is in search of a full-time Administrative Assistant for Contributions who will manage the bookkeeping entries for all contributions through ACS and generate reports and letters as required. The position will also handle other administrative duties as assigned. The successful candidate will:
1. Work with the Count Committee in recording of church offerings
2. Sort, scan and key into ACS all contributions
3. Reconcile, balance and prepare deposits for cash and checks
4. Process donations of all types
5. Prepare periodic reports
6. Act as centralized purchasing agent for the church’s office needs
7. Written and verbal correspondence with donors to the church
8. Cross-train with the Bookkeeper and have an understanding of the functions and operation of the accounts payable system and payroll function
9. Reviews childcare time sheets submitting to bookkeeper for payment
10. Designated contact for “On-line Giving” & Text to Give
11. Run monthly contribution statements; mail to contributors to ensure accuracy
12. Loomis contact for weekly deposit pick-up
13. Prepare and mail Stewardship communications
14. Participates on scholarship committee
15. Mass mailings
Qualifications:
1. Associates degree with an emphasis in bookkeeping/accounting or certification from a recognized program for bookkeeping
2. 3 years of experience working in a bookkeeping or accounting function
3. Possess excellent overall communication skills
4. Hold a proven ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people
5. Demonstrate strong organizational skills
