Saint Andrews United Methodist Church (SAUMC) in Garner, NC is seeking an experienced, organized administrative professional for the position of Administrative Assistant on our church staff. Job duties include:
Create and facilitate church-wide communications and communications to church staff via email, mailings, and church website; examples include daily announcements, weekly bulletins, monthly newsletters, and other reports and documentation related to church activities. Maintain the master schedule of church activities, and distribute meeting reminders; Maintain the database of church membership; Serve as receptionist for church phones; Manage the church office, including ordering office supplies and making effective use of volunteers to assist in office operations.
Required qualifications include: Excellent computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office products and database tools 3-5 years of office management experience, preferably in a church or non-profit organization Excellent communicator in both written and verbal communications Ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills Ability to work well and converse with a wide variety of people Experience in managing confidential information
The duties of the Administrative Assistant will require an average of 30 hours per week, but could vary with workload. Typical work schedule is expected to be 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday, but the schedule can be flexible. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
