Christ UMC is seeking an Administrative Assistant to work 35 hours/week, Mon-Thurs 9:00 am – 5:00 pm & Fri, 9:00 am – noon. Under the supervision of the lead pastor & office manager, & working with minimal direction, this position coordinates day-to-day office operations & communications (interpersonal, print, email, social media, ) & interfaces with the staff, membership, & visitors to provide efficient & effective church operation. Outstanding hospitality sensibilities, excellent oral/written communication skills, & the capacity to maintain strict confidentiality required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Office Administration – Coordinate visitor contact through walk-in, phone, & internet interaction, procure supplies, generate reports & documents for lead staff, & maintain documents and reports appropriately.
• Communication/Media – Generate weekly bulletins & email newsletter; maintain webpage, social media hubs, & church calendar.
• Technology– Assist with church network, computers, printers, copiers, & other technical equipment.
• Volunteer Coordination – Supervise/schedule volunteers for the Reception Desk & special task groups.
Minimum Qualifications: College degree (business background preferred); 2 years of office administration duties in a moderately-paced office environment. Experience in church setting is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher), Adobe in Design, Photoshop. Demonstrated competency in grammar/composition as well as skill in maintaining electronic files/records.
