You probably noticed something different when you came to our website today. That’s right, a new look! While the look is different, the site should still be familiar, since much of the content and links have stayed the same. Here’s a summary of what’s new:
Clean Look
One of the first things you’ll notice is the new website has a cleaner look and is more image driven. Both the images and text are larger, making the website easier to read and navigate.
This overall look now falls in line with the NC Conference brand. Along with the new look, we’ve made it easier to see posts from our ministry pages (like Treasurer’s Office and Connectional Ministries). Now when an update is posted, it will appear on the homepage, giving the post more exposure, with a color-coded header letting you know where the post came from.
New Navigation
We have re-imagined our navigation and brought more links to our menu. First, there is a navigation menu at the top of the site. These links are mostly about the NC Conference; things like the Calendar, Churches, Districts and Contact. Also, you’ll find the A-Z List and Search pages.
Probably the biggest change you’ll notice is the new mega menu. We have broken down the links on our site into four new categories: Discipleship, Leadership, Service and Resources. When you hover over each of these (or tap on your mobile device), you will find five sub-headings, helping you find content quicker.
Lastly, we have made navigation easier on our ministry sites. Instead of a sidebar with tons of links going down the page now you’ll find a third menu when browsing those pages.
Mobile Friendly
You’ll be able to use every feature on our site, whether you need something on the road or at your desk.
Saying Goodbye
Launching the new site, there were a couple of items that we have removed and so, we say goodbye.
- Email link: since we transitioned our NC Conference email accounts to Google, you no longer need to come to our site to get to your email. Just visit and bookmark mail.google.com!
- Image Slider: we now have our Featured Story section and all the site posts on the homepage.
