The North Carolina Annual Conference Board of Institutions, Inc., through its Board of Directors elected by the NC Conference, serves as a primary link between the Conference and the following institutions related by faith to the Conference:
- Asbury Homes
- Louisburg College
- Methodist Home for Children
- Methodist University
- NC United Methodist Camp & Retreat Ministries
- United Methodist Foundation (UMF)
- The United Methodist Retirement Homes
- NC Wesleyan College
The Board of Institutions was originally created in 1992 to insure the legal integrity of the relationships between the affiliated institutions and the Conference and to serve in an advisory and liaison role between the institutions and the Conference concerning to the business and financial affairs of the institutions.
In more recent years, however, the Board of Institutions has also generated several initiatives, with the involvement of all parties, to better define and nurture these relationships by supporting the shared Christian mission and heritage of the institutions on the one hand, and the Conference and its churches and districts on the other.
