Conference-wide Creation Care Worship Service

September has been designated as a month to focus on creation care within the North Carolina Conference. To kick off the month-long focus, the NCCUMC Creation Care committee is leading an online worship service, available to all churches within the Conference. Bishop Hope Morgan Ward will be delivering the sermon.

Environmental Injustice

Former NC Conference Youth President Cooper Sykes is back to share with us how environmental damage adversely effects our most vulnerable neighbors. Come learn about North Carolina’s role in the origins of the environmental justice movement, designed to combat the disproportionate rates of environmental harm affecting people of color and low-income communities. We’ll discuss the events in the early 1980s in Warren County, the predecessors of the movement, and where environmental racism and injustice is still rampant today.
